APPEAL.

(To the Editor.) Sir, —Te Kuiti’s Recruiting Campaign begins to-day. The quota required is 100 fit men and true. That Te Kuiti will provide its quota I have no doubt. For over 20 years we have enjoyed the, blessings of Peace. Now our Empire is threatened, and at any time we may be called upon to defend these shores. The duty of all fit men between the ages of 18 and 32 years is to enlist in the New Zealand Territorial Army. I appeal to the men of Te Kuiti to come forward now and I know this appeal will not be made in vain.— I am, etc., H. T. MORTON, Mayor.
