PIOPIO STOCK SALE
Messrs. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report having held their usual fortnightly sale at Pio Pio yesterday when a medium yarding of cattle Were offered to an attendance of local and outside buyers. Cattle sold well under keen competition though two lines of steer calves were passed in as prices did not come up to vendors' reserves. We quote:— Extra heavy fat P.A. cows £9 2s; heavy £8 10s to £8 12s; medium £7 to £8 2s; light fat Jersey cows £4 lis; forward condition £3 to £3 10s; P.A. breeding cows r.w. P.A. bull, mixed ages, £5 15s to £6; aged Hereford cows r.w. P.A. bull £4 ss; medium 18-month P.A. heifers r.w.b., £4 15s; good Hereford steer calves £4 18s; good P.A. steer calves £4 13; to £4 16s; medium 18months P.A. steers £5 5s to £5 lis; well bred P.A. heifer calves £3 7s; good P.A. heifer calves £2 18s; well grown Hereford heifer calves £2 17s 6d; small m.s. P.A. calves £2 10s.
