THE LADIES’ GUILD. SUCCESSFUL YEAR EXPERIENCED The annual meeting of the Ladies’ Guild was held recently, when the Rev. J. H. Hall presided over a good attendance. The annual report showed that a very successful year had been experienced. Meetings had been held monthly, various gift afternoons had been held, and marked success had attended the annual effort at the Bulb Show. The balance sheet, presented by Mrs. Hill, showed a good credit balance. Appreciation was expressed by the Rev. J. H. Hall at the valued work done by the ladies, and he made mention of the working bee just before Easter, when a very willing band gave the Church its annual thorough renovation. The officers were elected as follows: —

Secretary: Mrs. Glenister. Treasurer: Mrs. Hill. Representative to Circuit Quarterly Meeting: Mrs. W. Walker. Buyers: Mesdames Glenister and Hall.

A vote of thanks to the retiring officers was carried, and a cup of tea, served by Mrs. H. Dobson and Mrs. Hall, brought a very pleasant afternoon to a close. The first of a series of gift afternoons was arranged to be held at the residence of Mrs. Walker, Snr., Rangitoto Road. Methodist Men’s Fellowship. A meeting of the men of the Church was held last week to form a branch of the Methodist Men’s Fellowship. There was a fair attendance, and a good discussion resulted in a unanimous decision to form a branch in Te Kuiti.

The objects of the Fellowship were stressed, viz., “to enlist the co-opera-tion of Christian men in the active promotion of the work of the Church, both at home and abroad, and especU ally to cultivate the social aspects of Christian life.” It was -decided to hold meetings on alternate Thursday evenings, the next meeting to be held on May 19. A paper on John Wesley is to be given, and part of the evening is to be spent in games, with supper at the conclusion. The officers were elected as follows:-

President: Mr. W. Walker, Snr. Vice-President: Mr. L. T. Hobson. Secretary-Treasurer: Mr. D. P. Hopcroft.
