AERO CLUB

ANNUAL MEETING. SOUND FINANCIAL POSITION. The first annual general meeting of the Te Kuiti Aero Club was held in Dinsdale's Rooms last evening, Mr. H. •T. Morton presiding over a fair attendance of members. In presenting his report, Mr. Morton made reference to the great improvements that had been carried out at the aerodrome during the past year. From £6O to £BO a week had been spent on the ground during fine weather, with the result that Te Kuiti, for its size, had one of the finest aerodromes in New Zealand.

Marked progress had been made in aviation generally throughout the country, as witnessed by the network of air services now in operation in the Dominion, and it was due in no small measure to the work of the Aero Clubs that this progress had been made.

Preparations were well in hand for the forthcoming pageant, and with the improved landing facilities and the increasing airmindedness of the people of Te Kuiti and district, a more successful pageant that ever before was anticipated.

The balance sheet showed the Club to be in a sound financial position. Assets amounting to £1146 17s 4d were owned by the Club in the form of land and buildings, while improvements estimated at £2322 had been carried out by the Public Works Department with a contingent liability of £1548. Crown lands leasehold amounting to £265 and. a bank overdraft of £989 15s 2d left the Club with an equity of £666 4s 2d. The revenue account showed a surplus of £44 19s lid on the year's workings. The election of officers resulted as follows: — Patron: Mr. H. Rothery. President: Mr. H. T. Morton. Vice-presidents: Messrs. Mostyn Jones, 0. P. Tristram, H. G. C'orbett, A. B. R. Mossman, B.
