OTOROHANGA SALE. Messrs. Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report on the Otorohanga sale held on 3rd inst., as follows: —There was a medium yarding of all classes. Sheep were in fair demand and sold on a par with late rates. The cattle were mostly Jersey cows for which there was a firm market. There were a few dairy cows of mediocre quality, which sold well up to late ruling rates. Pigs were in demand and sold to a firm market.

Quotations. —Small 2-tooth ewes 29s 3d; fair 2-tooth wethers 23s Id; forward conditioned Jersey cows £4 2s 6d to £4 10s;.good store Jersey cows £3 15s to £4; boners £2 12s to £3 12s 6d; fair Jersey heifers, close to profit, £7 5s to £8; cows close to profit to £7 10s; rough sorts £4 10s to £6; plain porkers £2 18s to £3 Is; good stores £2 to £2 3s 6d; weaners 19s 6d to 225. TAUMARUNUI STOCK SALE. There was a good yarding of all classes of stock at the Taumarunui stock sale on Tuesday when sheep and pigs were in good demand. Run cows and store cattle were hard to quit, and the majority were passed in at prices much below vendors' reserves. At the commencement of the sale the attendance was not large but before the sheep were submitted buyers and farmers arrived from most parts of the King Country. All the stock were in good condition, and many of the sheep were shorn." Best weaner pigs made 225, and good stores up to 28s 6d. Porkers changed hands at 34s to 355, and baconers up to £3 12s 6d. A sow with a litter of 10 made £8 15s. Shorn fat wethers changed hands at from 27s 6d to 28s, and ewes with 100 per cent, lambs made as much as £2 4s 4d. Shorn ewe hoggets sold at up to 37s 6d and woolly ewe hoggets made from 38s 3d to 40s Id. Best fat cows sold at £8 2s, and others made from £5 to £5 17s 6d. Yearling Jersey heifers made from £2 16s to £4 3s. Quotations were:—Pigs: Small weaners, lis 6d to 13s; good weaners, 17s 6d to 225; stores, 23s to 28s 6d; porkers 34s to 355; baconers £3 12s 6d; well-bred sow with litter, £8 15s. Sheep: Shorn fat wethers 27s 6d to 28s; woolly ewes, with 100 per cent, lambs, 38s 6d to 44s 4d; shorn ewe hoggets 37s 6d; woolly ewe hoggets 38s 3d to 40s Id; shorn wether hoggets 24s 4d to 255. Cattle.—Fat cows £5 to £8 2s; fat heifers £4; Jer. steers £3 14s; P.A., S.H. and Red Polled heifers £3 18s to £4 10s; yearling Jersey heifers £2 16s to £4 3s; springing heifers £4 ss; bulls £5 to £lO 10s.
