In making the presentation the president of the Club, Mr. D. McLeay, pointed out that it was nearly 23 years since Mr. Evans had started long range shooting in Te Kuiti. During his long service as a keen and active member of the Club, Mr. Evans had always advocated that it should work to secure full control over its range. This idea had at last materialised, and, through the generosity of Mr. P. H. Mills in granting the use of land at Waitete, the Club had been enabled to shift its range where, being freer in its activities, it looked forward to future progress. The Club had a great deal for which to thank Mr. Evans, and wished him every success in his new sphere of activities. Mr/ Evans, in returning thanks, expressed the hope that the Club would prosper.
