CENTRALISED CRICKET

ALL MATCHES AT TE KUITI. APPORTIONING EXPENSES. HAMILL SHIELD CRICKET. A decision to play all cricket matches at Te Kuiti, the home team to pay half of the visiting teams' expenses, was made at a meeting of the Maniapoto Cricket Association. 'This arrangement is to be put into effect at least until Christmas.

Under this system Te Kuiti players are to pay Is 6d every time their team meets Waitanguru and Is 3d each time it meets Pio Pio. It is hoped that this move will encourage the game: one definite benefit is that play will always be on suitable wickets. Play is to extend from 1.45 p.m. to 6.30 p.m. until further notice. Old Boys' Club were granted permission to enter a second team in the competition, making five teams in all—two from the country and three from the town.

Messrs. N. Ronaldson and McKenzie were appointed selectors for representative matches, and Messrs. N. Boulton and R. Seccombe the postponement committee. The following is the draw for the first round of the Hamill Shield competition :

Nov. 13.—Waitanguru v. Kiwi, No. 2; Colts v. Pio Pio, No. 1; Old Boys bye. Nov. 20.—01 d Boys v. Kiwi, No. 1; Waitanguru v. Pio Pio at Pio Pio; Colts bye. * Nov. 27.—Kiwi v. Pio Pio, No. 1; Colts v. Old Boys, No. 2; Waitanguru bye. Dec. 4.—Waitanguru v. Colts, No. 1; Pio Pio v. Old Boys, No. 2; Kiwi bye. Dec. 11.—Waitanguru v. Old Boys, No. 1; Kiwi v. Colts, No. 2; Pio Pio bye.
