DAIRY ZONING

DECISIONS OF EXECUTIVE COMMISSION. LOCAL ARRANGEMENTS. The Executive Commission of Agriculture, which has been sitting in Hamilton since Thursday last, completed its investigations on Monday. The purpose of the meetings held by the Commission with the different dairy factory companies was to consider applications for extensions and modifications of the zoning order issued on July 23 last, under which suppliers were required to send their cream to one or other of the two factories nearest to their farms. King Country Zones. The N.Z. Co-operative Dairy Co., Ltd., was granted an extension in respect of the farms in the Mokauiti area from which it now received cream supplies, and it was also granted the right, together with the Aria Co-operative Dairy Co., Ltd., to operate in the areas to the east of the Aria company's present collection route. It was also granted the right to operate on and to the east of the Te Kuiti-Bulls main highway, between the junctions of that highway with the Te Kuiti-New Plymouth main highway, and the Kopaki Road. The Pio Pio Co-operative Dairy Co., Ltd was also permitted to collect cream supplies in the area in question and the N.Z. Co-operative Dairy Co. Ltd., agree not to operate to the west of that area. The Pio Pio company was granted the right to operate in the Ngapaenga area and on Troopers' Road as far north as Mather's Road, but with these exceptions the area formerly operated over by the Marakopa Co-operative Dairy Co., Ltd., was assigned to the N.Z. Cooperative Dairy Co., Ltd.

A boundary between the Pio Pio and Aria companies was decided upon at the Mokau River westward of the Wairere Road bridge, and following the Ruahi South and Kaiteranga Roads to the eastward. The Pio Pio company was granted the right to receive cream from its present suppliers in the Aria territory for so long as they remained in occupation of their farms and desired to supply the company.
