It is sturdily made, light in draft, and simple to adjust and operate. It will distribute evenly all kinds of commercial fertilisers and in quantities of approxmately 10 to 2350 pounds to the acre. The adjustments for distributing different quantities is made by a conveniently located lever and is instantaneous. The bottoms are lead coated to resist the corroding action of the fertiliser. Extremely simple construction with slow motion distributing mechanism insures an exceptionally light-draft machine. FEED DEVICE. The Feed Device comprises essentially two hopper bottoms with openings set in staggered relation to each other and with two perforated feed plates working between them. Inside the hopper and opening lengthwise is an agitator-feeder. The fingers of this feeder push the fertiliser into the openings in the upper hopper bottom. It is then ejected through the openings in the lower bottoms by the two reciprocating feed plates. Distribution is remarkably uniform and the fertiliser is thoroughly pulverised so that it is in the finest possible condition available for plant food.
