The Rev. R. T. Alexander has befen appointed Methodist minister stationed at Ohura. ;

Mr. Don Chat win, of Wellington, has been appointed to a position on the staff of Te Kuiti Motors, Ltd.

Mr. W. J. Broadfoot, M.P. for Waitomo, is at present making a tour of the South Island giving political addresses.

Mr. G. Garvey, who for many years has been a member of the Waitomo Power Board staff, having been stationed first at Te Kuiti and then at Otorohanga, was farewelled by the officers and staff of the Board on Thursday evening. A razor was presented to him by Mr. W. F. Seeker on behalf of the employees of the Board, and many wishes were expressed that his stay in Tauranga would be a happy one.

A farewell social to Miss Betty Smith, who is leaving the district, was held in St. Andrew's Hall on Thursday evening. Games 'and competitions were freely entered into and an impromptu programme of musical and elocutionary items was greatly appreciated. During the evening Mr. G. Kilham, Mrs. Brabyn and Mr. K. . Matthews spoke of Miss Smith's much appreciated help in the Sunday School and Young People's Club. On behalf of the teachers, Bible Class members and friends, the Rev. W. T. Brabyn presented her with a beautiful set of toilet requisites, and expressed regret at her intending departure. Miss Smith feelingly returned thanks,
