A keen golfer had a charming girl on his right at dinner, and he gave her graphic descriptions of his achievements with the clubs, hardly allowing her time to say more than “Really!” During the dessert he remarked: “I’m afraid I’ve been monopolising the conversation and talking nothing but golf.” “Oh, never mind,” said the girl. “But you might tell me, what is golf?”
