SPANISH REVOLUTION
CONFLICTING REPORTS ACTION OF BRITISH COMMANDER STOPS ITALIAN WARSHIP FIRING (Press Association.—Copyright.) (Received 12.45 p.m.) : Madrid, July 24. The Seville radio being silent; rebel supporters regard this as a bad sign. A Government decree states that the Spanish-Morocco territorial waters are in the war zone. It is officially announced that the loyalists stormed San Sebastian and overpowered the last of the rebels after a stiff resistance. All is npw quiet in that quarter where a British destroyer is standing by. General Franco, the leader of the rebels, interviewed, stated he would be in Spain very soon. Asked whether he was assuming supreme command, he said: "We shall see."
A message from Marseilles states that three British warships have arrived with 150 refugees.
The Spanish fleet has left Tangier in response to international protests. Germany's pocket battleships are on their way to Spain. Admiral Horton, commander of the British cruiser London is reported _to have drawn alongside the .Italian cruiser Monte Cuccoli'when that vessel was on the point of firing on Barcelona, and persuaded the commander to desist. The Italians were incensed at an attack on the Fascist clubs.
The Quai D'Orsay denies that the Spanish Government applied for arms.
