TE KUITI R.S.A.

MEETING OF EXECUTIVE. The usual meeting of the Executive Committee of the R.S.A. was held on Wednesday evening in the Association's Rooms. The following members were present: Messrs. A. C. Shearer (president), F. Ongley (vice-presi-dent), J. Thornton (secretary), A. Morris (Pio Pio), W. Gray, A. Flux, G. Millar, N. Cole, H. P. Hughes. An apology was received from Mr. J. J Davison. Visitors included Messrs. J. Hamilton, J. Dickson (Mokauiti), K. Walker (Pio Pio), and Honorary Chaplain E. W. Hancock.

Accounts totalling £5 14s were passed for payment. Subscriptions from Mokauiti Sub-Branch on behalf of 15 members were received. An application was made by a Waimiha member for the admission of his son to Flock House.

The Waimiha Sub-Branch wrote expressing its desire to join up with the Taumarunui Association. This course is not possible as headquarters have set certain boundaries, and Waimiha district is in the Te Kuiti Association's area. The following members from Te Kuiti were appointed as a committee to interview the members at Waimiha on the question: Messrs. A. C. Shearer, J. Thornton and J. Dickson.

A lengthy circular was read regarding ex-soldiers settled on the land under the provisions of the Discharged Soldiers' Settlement Act. This circular will be read at the quarterly meeting. The grant to this Association for the month from the Canteen Fund was £3.

Mr. B. Stubbings made application for transfer from Te Kuiti Association to Western Suburbs Association. This was granted. It was decided to support the Te Awamutu Association's circular of protest regarding the transferring of discharged soldiers' settlement mortgages to the Mortgage Corporation.

One of the members, Mr. H. Chole, of Poro-o-tarao, owing to a recurrence of war trouble, is on the sick list and has again to enter the Hamilton Hospital. The Executive expressed thanks to Mr. W. McNaught for his donation of a framed photograph of the late Earl Kitchener to the Association.
