WEDDINGS

FOX—DAVIDSON. A pretty wedding took place at St. Andrew’s Church on Thursday evening, April 9, when Isobel Grace, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Davidson, of Te Kuiti, was married to Edward Kelvin, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fox, of Glen Eden, Auckland. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Mr. Hunt, of Tauranga, uncle of the bride, assisted by the Rev. W. T. Brabyn. Miss I. Graham played the organ at the ceremony. The brides’ frock was of white satin cut on straight lines and set off with a sweeping veil and train. She carried a sheath of white dahlias and maidenhair ferm as she entered the church escorted by her father. Miss Joyce Davidson, sister of the bride, acted as bridesmaid. Her frock was of applegreen panama crepe trimmed with silver, and her bouquet of pink Australian roses and maidenhair fern. Posies of the same flowers were carried by Yvonne de Launay, of Auckland, and Ngaire Smith, _of Cambridge, who acted as flower girls. They were dressed in green silk velvetMr. Eric Dodd, of Hamilton, was best man. The church was prettily decorated for the occasion in floral tonings. After the ceremony a reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents, many guests beingpresent from Hamilton and Te Kuiti. They were received by Mrs. Davidson in a gown of blue georgette and lace, and Mrs. Fox in black georgette and lace. During the evening the bride and bridegroom left by car for their honeymoon, the bride’s travelling costume being of tailored tweed. CAMERON —SMITH. Another Easter wedding which attracted wide interest was that of Jean, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. Smith, of Morrinsville, to Ewan Stuart, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. E. S. Cameron, of Te Kuiti. This ceremony took place at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Te Kuiti, the Rev W. T. Brabyn officiating. Mr. R. Ferguson played the wedding march. It was a day wedding and the weather of Saturday afternoon was perfect for the occasion. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a cream satin frock trimmed with lace and with a train, and her veil was caught into circlet of orange blossoms. Chrysanthemums were the principal flowers in her bouquet. The bridesmaids were Misses Betty and Nancy Smith, who wore frocks of floral pink georgette with hat and shoes toning, and carried pink chrysanthemum bouquets. The flower girls were Margaret Smith, sister of the bride, and Jean Cameron, sister of the groom, and they wore dresses of pink suede crepe, their posies being of chrysanthemums. The best man was Mr. Robert Cameron and the groomsman Mr. John Cameron. The church was prettily decorated for the occasion in pink and white. About 90 guests were present at the wedding breakfast held afterwards in B. and A.’s Hall. Mrs. Cameron wore a navy blue ensemble, and Mrs. Smith a brown ensemble as they received their guests. Afterwards the newly-wedded couple left by train for the south, the bride travelling in a brown costume with hat to match. They will make their future home in Wanganui.

F ARRELL —NEALON. The wedding of Lyall Edna, eldest daughter of Mrs. and the late Mr. A. J. Nealon, of Te Kuiti, to George Herbert, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Fan-ell, of Mangapehi, was solemnised in the Catholic Church on Saturday afternoon. The Rev. Father Shore performed the ceremony. The bride wore a wedding gown of cream lace over satin beaute falling in graceful lines and with a train. Her veil was worn in the halo style, and her bouquet was of pink and white tonings. . Miss Jean Nealon, sister of the bride, and Miss Alice Farrell, sister of the groom, acted as bridesmaids. The former’s frock was of blue floral georgette with bouquet toning, and the latter’s, cut on similar lines, was of lemon georgette, and her bouquet was of lemon coloured flowers. The best man was Mr. Jack Farrell, and the groomsman Mr. T. Nealon. A reception was afterwards held at the Carlton tea rooms. Mrs. Nealon was wearing a blue flecked tweed ensemble, and Mrs. Farrell’s choice was navy blue. When the young couple left by train for the north the bride was wearing a navy blue frock and coat. JARVIS—LOGAN. A wedding of interest to Kopaki and Aratoro folk was celebrated last Saturday morning at the residence of Mr. S. Jarvis, Arotoro, when Mr. John Alexander Jarvis was united in marriage with Miss Elizabeth Logan, daughter of Mrs. and the late Mr. H: Logan, of Aratoro. The Rev. W. T. Brabyn officiated and Miss Violet Jarvis was bridesmaid and Mr. Francis Logan best man. After the wedding a large party sat down to the wedding breakfast, when many toasts were drunk and a very happy time was spent by all.
