THE LEAGUE OF NATIONS
NEW ZEALAND’S PROSPECTS. FOR SEAT ON THE COUNCIL. (Press Association.—Copyright.) (Received 11.45 a.m.) London, April 15, The Australian Associated Press was informed by League circles that New Zealand’s chance of securing one of the non-permanent Council seats falling vacant in September, when Argentina, Australia, Denmark and Portugal retire, is promising, as it is expected to obtain the support of Britain and the other Dominions. Another possible Empire candidate is South Africa, but as she has already held the Presidency of the Assembly, while New Zealand obtained no honours, the latter’s prospects are preferred.
