WOMEN'S INSTITUTE

VISIT OF ORGANISER. At a special meeting held last Friday The Te Kuiti Institute had the pleasure of a visit from Miss A. E. Stops, voluntary organiser from: England, and Mrs. Robson, president of the Waikato Federation, Hamilton, when visitors were also present from Hangatiki, Aratoro, Mangaokewa, and Mangapehi. The meeting opened with the National Anthem, after which the president (Mrs. Corin) introduced Miss Stops and welcomed the guests and visitors ' from sister Institutes. Miss Stops lectured on her very interesting display of gifts that had been received from Institutes that she had visited over all parts of the world. An adjournment was made for lunch that had been provided by the local members, after which the two guests were presented with bouquets. Miss Stops expressed her pleasure at being able to be present, and in thanking the members for their welcome and hospitality, she impressed on those present the principles on which the. Institute was founded, also the need of kindness and unity, first and foremost. In expressing the hope that the time would soon come when both the Institute and the Division would unite to form one body for the good of the women of this Dominion, she also pointed out that New Zealai d was the only country that had these two distinct organisations. Mrs. Robson also gave an interesting address and congratulated the Institute on its wonderful progress during the past year, and the fact of it being one happy family. These two distinguished visitors were heartily thanked for their addresses, and one of the most pleasant meetings in the history of this Institute was closed, after which afternoon tea was served.
