EX-GERMAN COLONIES

HOPES FOR RETURN. MR. CHAMBERLAIN'S SPEECH. (Press Association. —Copyright.) (Received 12.35 p.m.) London, April 8. The Sun-Herald says that Mr. Nevill Chamberlain's statement in the House of Commons regarding exGerman colonies is hailed by the German press as a proof of Britain's willingness to return the mandates. The London correspondent of the Angriff writes that Mr. Chamberlain's statement shows that the return of the mandates is a matter of the very near future. Britain has abandoned her earlier attitude and it is now clear that the British public agree to return the mandates, if not enthusiastically at least calmly.
