RAPID ADVANCE
SUCCESS OF LIGHT TANKS. ABYSSINIANS IN FULL RETREAT(Press Association.—-Copyright.) (Received 11.20 a.m.) .London, November 11. Most of the morning’s war despatches deal with the reported arrival of the Italians on the outskirts of Dagebar after the capture of Sassabe'neh. There is some incredulity that the ordinary forces could have made an unprecedented advance of 100 miles in seven days in such country, and it is suggested that the feat is attributable to the fleets of light tanks. A message from . Rome confirms the report that the Abyssinians are massing at Amba Alagi, but an unofficial message from Addis Ababa says the Abyssinians are in full retreat on the northern and southern fronts. The capture of Analto, 30 miles north of Amba Alagi, is-also reported. Fall of Gorahi Serious Blow. From the Italian military standpoint the fall of Gorahi is one of the most serious blows to Abyssinia, endangering the whole zone of reserves and concentrations between Sassabaneh, Harar and Jijiga, giving the Italians command of the wells indispensable for the troops, and opening a direct route to Harar along the Fafan' Valley.
