POWER SUPPLY
EXCHANGE OF TERRITORY. At the meeting of the Te Awamutu Power Board on Friday last, the manager reported on a conference with representatives of the Public Works Department and the Waitomo Electric Power Board in connection with the proposal to reticulate part of the district west of Waipa River, involving an exchange of territory between the two Boards. An offer had been made on behalf of the Te Awamutu Board to cede a portion south-west of Te Kawa to enable Waitomo Board to serve the northern part of the Honikiwi district, the Waitomo Board giving, in return, an area north of the KawaKawhia main highway. The officer of the Public Works Department had noted the proposal, and would submit his recommendations to the Minister.
The report was received, and Mr. Lethbridge, who represents the northern part of Otorohanga County on the Board, expressed his regret at not being able, through pressure of other business, to attend that conference.
