FRANCE IN SPORT
DECADENCE DEPLORED. EFFORT TO STIMULATE INTEREST (Press Association.—Copyright.) (Received 12.45 p.m.) Paris, September 27. Seriously alarmed at France's position in international sport,_ the Government is opening a campaign to improve matters by building stadiums in order to raise the level of games.
The press generally fears that France will be unable to find even a moderate team for the 1936 Olympiad. Some papers suggest that it would be better to scratch rather than continue to be beaten.
