Returned Soldiers' Association.
The monthly meeting of the Pio Pio sub-branch of the Association was held in the Rest Room on Tuesday, 10th inst. A good muster of members sat under the presidency of Mr. Albert Morris. The discussion arising out of the month's correspondence centred round the effect upon returned men with a soldiers' settlement mortgage of the budgetary system under the Final Adjustment Act as administered by the Mortgage Corporation. There seemed to be some difference of opinion of the interpretation of some of the regulations. Mr. Crocombe read correspondence from the member for the district on the matter. It was decided to co-operate with a sister branch at Aria and send two delegates to Hamilton in the near future when the whole matter would be discussed at a meeting of the District' Council.
The secretary was authorised to purchase through suitable channels two headstones for the graves of returned men in the Pio Pio cemetery. Business concluded, the members adjourned for supper and talk. Later the card tables became popular.

it was decided to hold a dance on Saturday, 28th, when a good time will be extended to its patrons. A most delightful local party was given by Mrs. Allison at her residence, "Danebank," last Friday evening. The younger set danced to the music played by Miss Trembath and the wireless and played games, while Mr. and Mrs. Allison entertained the adult members of the party. A very dainty supper was served, and the evening concluded when Miss M. Early had passed a hearty vote of thanks on behalf of all present for the jolly evening.
