PERSONAL

A large gathering of Puketutu residents and friends of Mr. Len Kawe, the Maori All Black, entertained him at a social and dance at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Dan Manawaiti. About 30 natives from Te Kuiti, including Mr. and Mrs. Tommy Anderson, arrived by train and were greeted by a haka team. During the evening several toasts were honoured. Mr. W. Eketone spoke on behalf of the local residents and friends, and Mr. Anderson replied on behalf of Mr. Len Kawe. Musical and other items and hakas were well received during the dancing intervals. Nearly 100 people were present at the gathering.
