THE ALL BLACKS

TEAM AGAINST MIDLANDS. FAVOURABLE PRESS COMMENT. (Press Association.—Copyright.) (Received 12.45 a.m.) London, September 16. The All Blacks' team against the Midland Counties on Thursday is as follows: Gilbert, Hart, Oliver, Mitchell, Solomon, Page, Sadler, Manchester, Lambourn, Dalton, Adkins, McKenzie, King, Best, and Pepper. Hadley, who broke his cheek-bone in Saturday's match, had a fairly comfortable day. The Evening News says: "The New Zealanders gave a great exhibition of the art of football which was badly needed for the revival of English Rugby, viz., quick, clean heeling. Every man in the pack keeps his eye on the ball and accordingly the ball is never held up except intentionally, and never clumsily heeled. This is the rule rather than a novelty. The fiveeighths are going to make the team exceedingly dangerous on attack."
