GRANT FOR COTTAGES

WAIKATO FAFfM SCHEME. Advice has been received by the Waikato Land Settlement Society that the Unemployment Board has decided to grant it £960 for the purpose of erecting’ cottages on its faim properties in the Waikato. The object of the society is to offer accommodation and farm training to unemployed men, and when they have obtained sufficient experience of farming to find positions for them. During- the period the men are on the farms they will receive sustenance from the Unemployment Board, which by its action in making the grant has shown in a ‘practical manner its approval of the society’s scheme.
