COMMERCIAL
FEILDING HORSE FAIR. Messrs. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report a satisfactory entry at the above sale on Thursday. A large number of horses came forward of all descriptions. At ±he commencement of the sale it was readily appreciated, but the interest in horses is very great, as the attendance was the largest we have seen for a long time,'""buyers being present from far and near. Good unbroken horses met with a very ready sale, and anything brought out well made high prices. In this section we submitted two rising 2-year draught fillies on account of Mr. Maurice Kearins, which brought £45 and £47. Broken draught horses were in strong demand, and anything showing quality and soundness was eagerly snapped up. We topped the market in this section with a particularly nice 4-year gelding bred by Mr. S. Williamson, of Waituna, which sold at £56, the purchaser being Mr. A. M. Henson. Hacks of all descriptions were also offered, but here the demand was not great, only the best stamp of hack being inquired for. However, quite a number changed hands at what must be considered satisfactory prices.
