As a result of Saturday’s win, Pio Pio are the champion team of the Sub-Union this season, and as such will defend the Hetet Memorial Shield from the challenges of other champion teams in the King Country. As a result of a decision made on the ground, it was decided that last Saturday’s matches should be solely for the purpose of finishing the competition, and not also, as was first intended, the first round of the Pukeweka Shield knockout competition.
