CHARGES FOR ELECTRICITY.

v (To the Editor). Sir,—Ref erring to your article in your issue of last Thursday, it "would appear that the charges for the; Waitomo Power Board were not based on the present rates which at 20 ~units lighting, 20 units of heating, and 160 units of cooking plus 600-watt water heater, would amount to £1 13s. From our experience 200 units a month with 20 units of lighting is excessive for the average, all electric home—the average" being about 150 units, with 10 units at lighting rates/making the average monthly account £1 5s to £1 6s. The Waitomo Power Board's rates are as follows for an all electric home:—Lighting, 6d per unit; heating, cooking, etc., Id per unit; 600-watt water heater, 8s per month. —I am, etc., . j W..
