PRICE FOR BUTTER
UP TO 91/- A CWT. Advices from London state than an advance of Is per cwt in the price of butter has occurred, and choicest - salted New Zealand is' quoted at 91s per cwt. This is the first time that 90s has been exceeded since February, when 94s was touched. A message from London on Saturday, stated that the butter market remains firm, for although there are signs of the consumptive demand decreasing somewhat as retail prices ' have advanced, the big shrinkage in imports compared with this, time in 1934, and the decrease in the quantity afloat from countries south of the Equator by 6000 tons compared with the same period of last year, are "bull" points which traders cannot ignore. A dairy produce review issued by Messrs. A. S. Paterson and Co., Ltd.; agents for J. and J. Lonsdale and Co. (London), Ltd., states that it is con- ". sidered there will be no decline in butter prices before September, but on the contrary, prices may appre- \ ciate.
