The spectacle of 30 players and a referee all frantically shouting and waving after a lorry that was carrying away their football was an amusing feature of the second grade Rugby match between Marist and Star at Invercargill on Saturday afternoon (reports the Southland Times).) Waldron (Marist) converted a try with a kick which cleared the fence and landed on the back of a passing lorry. The driver, unconscious of the addition to his load, drove on his way until spectators who had witnessed the incident signalled to him to stop.
