OFFICIAL COUNT
ELIMINATES ELECTION TIE. MR. ROBERTS ELECTED AT WAIRERE. Owing to the official count, completed this morning, of the voting for the Wairere Power Board, Mr. C. S. Roberts is to become a member of the Board. Due to Mr. Roberts and Mr M. A. McKenzie each being credited with 124 votes in the preliminary count and to their being placed seventh in the election of a Board of seven, it was thought likely that the returning officer would be called upon to determine by lot which of these two should sit on the Board. However, when the voting papers were received from the polling booths and the offical count was made, Mr. McKenzie's votes were reduced to 123, and Mr. Roberts, with 124 votes, has been declared duly elected to the Wairere Power Board. The results of the official counts will be found in the advertisement columns of this issue.
