BEAUTY.
A WORD ABOUT MAKE-UP. Keep your skin well nourished by the nightly use of a good skin food, and since it is just as easy to apply it the right way as the wrong way, do remember always to rub upwards and outwards with a rotary movement of the finger tips. Keep your skin scrupulously clean, for this is the basis of all beauty. Get a good superfatted soap and use it at night (if you live in a town), for cleansing creams can not remove dirt in quite the same refreshing way as soap and water. A well known beauty specialist who gave me a demonstration the other day, thoroughly massaged my face with a cleansing and nourishing cream first and then she washed it with her own special soap and a nice big sponge. I must say it made me feel very nice and clean after the lovely stimulating massage. You see, she maintains that (lie massage brings the dirt up from under the skin and the soap and water wash it off, leaving the surface fresh and fragrant.
Keep your hair clean and perfectly groomed. A woman to-day is judged oy her hair almost as much as by her hands, and that brings us to the most difficult problem of all --bow tc beep hands perfect in spite of town life and housework. Web, the answer—among other th‘.rigs —is a lemon. Keep a cut one next to your wash basin and dig your finger tips into it after washing. If you are a busy housewife go to the store and arm yourself with a nice, easy fitting pair of rubber gloves—please wear them whenever there is any soda water or dirty work to tackle. You will be repaid for the slight inconvenience every time when you look at your lily-white hands.
