GRAGIE FIELDS FILM. Everybody remembers the entertainment that sparkled through “Sally In Our Alley,” “Looking on the Bright Side,” and “This Week of Grace,” and hew all laughed at the inimitable lass from Lancashire as she frolicked her way through these laughter-laden productions. Now she is coming to the State Theatre again to-night and on Monday, in what has been universally acclaimed her greatest success, “Love, Life and Laughter,” an elaborately produced, merry musical comedy punctuated with five catchy, comical song hits, sung as only Gracie could sing them. " Imagine “everybody’s favourite” as a modern Nell Gwyn, who has captured the heart of a prince, John Loder, a real handsome son of a reigning monarch. She “socked” him with an orange at a charity bazaar, and then stole his heart.

At the Empress Theatre to-night a double feature programme is to he screened. “Salomy Jane” is the story of a lone girl in a world of men, untamed, unspoilt, and defiantly loving a man with a price on his head. Charles Farrell, Joan Bennett and Ralph Bellamy are co-starred. In the role of a diplomat engaged in a life and death struggle for the future of his country, Warner Baxter will be seen in “Six Hours To Live.” Miriam Jordan and John Boles are included in the caste.
