Ropes and cordage made from hemp grown in New Zealand are in future to be used by the Port of London Authority in the London docks. Experiments recently carried out have proved that , heaving lines, small bringing-up ropes and halyards can be made from New Zealand hemp, the average, breaking strain being equal to that of ropes manufactured from hemp grown in foreign countries.
