OTOROHANGA SALE. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., Hamilton, report on their Otorohanga stock sale held on Wednesday as follows: Cattle.—A medium entry of all classes of cattle came forward, consisting principally of yearling Jersey heifers. Only a few fair quality fat cattle were entered and competition was keen on these. We quote: Fair quality fat cow's £2 5s to £3; boners up to £1 10s; potter bulls up to £3 12s 6d; fair quality dairy cows up to £3. Sheep.—A few pens of ewes and lambs and wethers were offered, but prices did not come up to vendors’ reserves.
Figs.—The large entry of fat pigs which came forward and which were disposed of at very satisfactory prices augurs well for future fat pig sales at this centre. Prices were fully up to Frankton late rates and a total clearance was effected. Competition was also keen on'stores and weaners though a slight drop w;as discernible from the previous sale’s quotations. We quote: Heavy baconers £3 2s to £3 9s; medium do, £2 17s to £3 Is; light baconers and heavy porkers £2 6s to £2 12s; medium porkers £2 to £2 ss; light do £1 13s to £1 18s; good stores £1 3s to £1 6s; poorer stores 19s to £1 Is 6d; good weaners 16s 6d to 18s; poorer do up to 16s.
