CENTENARY AIR RACE

TWENTY-SEVEN ENTRANTS. AMERICANS MAY JOIN IN. (Press Association.—Copyright.) (Received 12.10 p.m.) London, October 8. The Royal Aero Club's plans are now based on approximately twentyseven starters in the Centenary Air Race, apart from the possibility of some Americans flying the Atlantic in order to arrive at Mildenhall on October 14. Colonel Roscoe Turner and Clyde Pa'ngborn have arrived at Heston from Havre. There was some doubts as to whether Colonel Roscoe and Clyde Pangborn would be able to start in the race because, owing to the weather, they had to land their plane at Havre and the French Government demanded £4OOO duty.
