TARANAKI LAND BOARD

MONTHLY MEETING. The ordinary monthly meeting of the Taranaki Land Board was held at the Lands and Survey Office, New Plymouth, on Wednesday and Thursday, September 26th and 27th, there being present Messrs. F. H. Waters (chairman), S. Blake, N. R. Cleland, H. A. Foreman and C. J. Ryan. Several applications for land were considered, of which one was declined, one deferred, pending receipt of further particulars, and the following temporary tenancies were approved: Sections 49 to 54, Town of Tahora, W. Shine; Lot 5, Block VI, Tangitu Survey District, P. Jackson; Section 9, Block X, Mapara Survey District, A. Clark; Sub. 1 of Section 9, Block V, Mahoe Survey District, R. O'Dea; Section 3, Block VI, Mahoe Survey District, H. Anderson. The granting of renewals of the present leases over the undermentioned land is also receiving consideration: Section 19, Block 11, Aria Survey District; Section 27, Mangamingi Suburban; Sections 4 to 10, 14 to 19, Block V, 1 to 7, and 11 to 14, Block IX, Manaia Township; Sections 23, 24 and 25, Block XI, Opunake Survey District; Sections 1,2, 3,4, 17, 18, Block VI, Paritutu Survey District; Lots 8 and 12, Section 45, Patea District; Section 11, Puniwhakau Village; Part Sections 4 and 5, Block V, and Part Sections 8 and 10, Block IX, Waro Survey District. Proposals by the Taranaki County Council and Whangamomona County Council for the expenditure of accrued "fifths" were approved. Nine applications for consent to transfer were dealt with, of which five were recommended for approval and the following approved:— Section 5, Block V, Aria Survey District; Section 165, Hua District; Section 80, Block X, Kaupokonui Survey District and Section 31, Block XIII, Pouatu Survey District. Three applications for financial assistance were submitted, two being recommended and one declined. An application for consent to resume a small portion of land for street widening purposes was approved subject to certain conditions. The Board decided to re-offer Section 5, Block IX, Totoro Survey District, and Section 6, Block X, and Section 6, Block XI, Ohura Survey District, for selection by ballot in the near future. One hundred and thirty further miscellaneous cases dealing with mortgage adjustments, rental concessions, exemption from residence, and conversion and extension of leases were considered.
