TRANSPORT CO-ORDINATION BOARD. EVIDENCE BEING TAKEN. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) Wellington, this day. An investigation into motor taxation was commenced to-day by the Transport Co-ordination Board. A number of organisations have notified their intention of giving evidence, these including the Municipal Association, the Counties' Association, the Farmers' Union, carrying organisations, etc. Evidence on behalf of the North and South Island Motor Unions was given to-day by Mr. W. G. Walkley, who submitted evidence in which he said the motor taxation now being applied was unreasonably high, unsound in principle and unjust.
