DISTRICT NEWS
TE MAPARA (Own Correspondent.) On Saturday evening last, Mr. and Mrs. Fuicner, Te Mapara, entertained a large number of friends in their woolsned. The occasion was a celebration of their daughter’s marriage that day. The evening was ideal for dancing, the floor being in grand order. Messrs. Mills, Larsen, Brown and Meta supplied the music, the many encores being willingly granted. After a plentiful and dainty supper, to which all present did justice, Mr. Morris, on behalf of the guests, thanked Mr. and Mrs. Fulcher for a most enjoyable evening. The crowd then gave evidence that they knew how a good community sing should go, by singing “For They Are Jolly Good Fellows," repeating it in Maori. Later, Messrs. Brown and Scott sang and several of the young sports provided much merriment with their snatches of snappy songs. Those present, besides a goodly array of the district’s menfolk, included Mesdames Fulcher, Matheson, Gauntlett, Mills, Coyle, Davy, Agar, C. Larsen, W. Larsen, Morris, Furniss, also Misses Fulcher, Ohura (2), Madge Fulcher, Jean Remnant, FUrniss (2), Mills (2), N. Morris, G. Larsen, Coyle (2), Eleanor Brickland, Thelma Brickiand.
