Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report: — , . At Pio Pio on Thursday we had a medium entry of sheep and cattle which sold at late rates. Prices were: Fat wethers, 21s; woolly wether hoggets, 18s; fat bullocks, £4; fat heifers, £2 4s to £2 15s; store bullocks, £3 15s; marked yearling Jersey heifers, £3 ss; store cows, £1 2s 6d; weaner pigs, 13s 6d to 14s. Messrs. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report having held their usual triweekly sale at Pio Pio saleyards on Thursday, the 19th inst. A medium yarding of both sheep and dairy cattle came before an attendance of local buyers. Sheep sold at late rates under keen competition, whilst dairys were much easier. Quotations: Shorn fat wethers, 19s lid; shorn wether hoggets, 14s 6d; wether hoggets in the wool, 18s; m.s. hoggets, 75 per cent, ewes, 18s Id; f.m. ewes, S.D. and Romney lambs at foot, 18s; best dairy heifers, £3 ss; medium, £2 to £2 15s; backward, £1 12s 6d.
