It is repoi*ted that there is an unusual amount of gold prospecting activity in the Waikakaho Valley at the present time (says the Marlborough Express). Just what is the reason for it all no one appears to know, but in the past week or two a remarkable number of parties have gone into the valley and started operations. Some of the parties are subsidised relief miners, but many are strictly private ventures. According to one report most of the available ground appears to have been pegged out.
