OTOROHANGA SALE. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., Hamilton, report on their Otorohanga stock sale held on Wednesday as follows: The yarding of fat and boner cows was much the same as usual, and generally late rates ruled throughout. The advertised yearling heifers were less sought after than at previous sales, though vendors of quality heifers, for which the demand was best, met the market, accepting lower values than reserves in most cases. There was not much inquiry for dairy cattle, which were hard to dispose of at prices anywhere near reserves. We quote: Good quality fat cows and heifers £3 15s to £4 10s; medium do, £3 2s 6d to £3 12s 6d; light do, £2 12s 6d to £3 2s 6d; killable cows £2 to £2 7s 6d; good stores £1 10s to £1 15s; others £1 2s to £1 8s; boners £2; good quality yearling Jersey heifers £2 15s to £3 ss; medium do, £2 7s 6d to £2 12s 6d; poorer do, £1 12s to £2 ss; good quality dairy heifers £4 5s to £5; others up to £4; heifers in milk up to £4 15s; springing cows up to £5. Several lines of ewes and lambs met with a good reception, and buyers had to exceed their limits in order to secure. Aged ewes and lambs, all counted, 11s to 12s 9n.; good fat ewes £1 Is to £1 3s; others 16s to £l.
The entry of pigs was again practically all stores and weaners and there was no perceptible difference
in prices, which were good. Good stores made £1 10s to £1 16s; smaller do, £1 5s to £1 10s; slips £1 Is to £1 4s; best weaners 18s to £1; smaller do 11s to 16s.
