The fact that an English public school boy was one of the most successful farmers in the district was remarked on at the gathering of Rotarians at Urenui on Thursday night. Mr. Reg. Weeden had come to the Dominion a few years ago, and after learning something about New Zealand dairying, had taken up land for himself. In the farmers’ competitions he had proved most successful, winning the North Taranaki pasture championship. One speaker remarked that if a quota was to be introduced, then it must not be a quota on English public school boys of Mr. Weeden’s type.
