AFTER 40 YEARS

«. COURT CASE SETTLED. DISPUTES BETWEEN ESTATES. A dispute between two estates, of 40 years' standing, was settled in the Supreme Court in Christchurch last week with the consent of all parties. Mr. Justice MacGregor presided. The plaintiffs were Edward Ethelbert McCullough, farmer, of Christchurch, and Reginald Eugene Booker, solicitor, of Christchurch, executors in the will of the late Mary Mora, widow. Defendants were Percy George Riches, town clerk, Akaroa, surviving trustee in the estate of the late Bernard Mora; Michael Joseph Corrigan, farmer, of Waimate, assignee of the share of Thomas Pascal Mora, in the estate of Bernard Mora; the Bank of New Zealand, Te Kuiti, assignee of the share of Peter Bernard Joseph Mora in the estate; Pyne, Gould, Guinness, Limited, Christchurch, assignee of the share of Benjamin Gaudon Mora in the estate; and Margaret Kennard Smith and Ruby Thelma Smith, of Ashburton, trustees of the late John Smith, assignees of the share of John Antonio Eustace Mora in the estate.

Counsel announced a settlement of the dispute, and said that as the claim was such a long-standing one, it had been agreed that the settlement should be embodied in an order of the Court. Broadly, the settlement was that plaintiff received full settlement of £250, each side paying its own costs.

An order was made accordingly.
