When a resident of Burton-oh-Trent, England, returned home after a visit to New Zealand, his conscience was burdened by the knowledge of a debt of 2d to the Christchurch Tramway Board. In a crowded car on a short trip the conductor had not reached him in time. But thousands of miles of space did not mitigate his appreciation of his obligations, and the result was that ' the Christchurch Tramway Board recently received two penny stamps. In an accompanying note the writer said: "Enclosed two penny stamps, payment for journey made on the tram from cricket ground to city on day of test match in April.
