FEILDING SALE.
Messrs. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report on their Feilding sale on Friday, 18th instant, as follows: — The entry of both fat and store sheep was smaller than the previous week. There was a large yarding of both fat and store cattle. Fat lambs and fat ewes were not so keenly sought after, and prices receded 2s 6d per head. There was only a small entry of store sheep, principally hoggets, which were in particularly keen demand. Prices showed an improvement of 2s 6d per head, ir fact, graziers were competing with butchers for Romney lambs in fat pens. The market for cattle was fully maintained, with the exception of dairy stock, which met a heavy market.
The following prices were realised: Fat hoggets, 14s 8d to 23s 6d; fat ewes, 12s 7d to 19s; fat wethers, 22s 9d; wether hoggets, 13s Id to 15s 2d; ewe hoggets, 15s Id to 20s 3d; five ewes with five spring lambs at foot, 355; 3-year heifers, r.w.b., £2 17s 6d to £3 7s 6d; 2-year heifers, r.w.b., £3 2s 6d to £4; heifers at the drop, £4 7s 6d; heifers, calved, £2 12s 6d; cull dairy cows, £1 5s to £1 17s 6d; fat Hereford cows, £3 7s 6d; fat Jersey cows, £1 17s 6d; store cattle: fat and forward P.A. bullocks, £5; 3to 4-year P.A. and Hereford bullocks, £3 16s 6d; yearly Jersey heifers, 20s to £2 6s; **fcore cows, 10s to 30s.
