ST. JOHN’S AMBULANCE
BRANCH FOR TE KUITI. A public meeting will be held on Thursday, 15th June, to take steps to form a branch of St. John’s Ambulance Association in Te Kuiti. In all towns of any size in the Dominion the work of the Association is being taken up with enthusiasm, and it is to be hoped that Te Kuiti will not be behind in this connection. A large amount of pain can be avoided, and in many cases fatalities, by a knowledge of dealing with cases of poisoning, burning and scalding, electrical shocks, bleeding and broken bones, or possible drowning. A knowledge of first aid in all cases of accidents should be part of the education of all people, both young and old, and it is to be hoped that there will be a large attendance of the public to give the Association a good start in the town. On Tuesday, 20th June, a class for married women will be started, and steps taken later to establish further classes for both men and women.
