INVITATION TO ALL-BLACKS.
TO VISIT AUSTRALIA. (Press Association. —Copyright.) (Received 10.20 a.m.) Sydney, this day. The Telegraph’s Rugby Union writer says that Australia’s advance in Rugby, instanced so strongly by the quality of the new material in New South Wales and the general progress in other States, should be availed of by the administrators of the game. The opportunity to welcome an international team next season is a golden one, and negotiations entered into now to bring an All Black side over from New Zealand would not be regretted later.
FLOOD POSITION IMPROVES.
SOME ROADS STILL IMPASSABLE.
(Press Association. —Copyright.) (Received 9.40 a.m.) Sydney, this day.
The flood position on the North Coast is improving. The Nambucca River overflowed its banks and flooded the North Coast road. A number of motorists between Sydney and Brisbane were held up. The rain has now ceased and the waters are receding. The rain has also ceased in Western Australia and the flooded waters have receded, but many roads and bridges are impassable until repaired.
