Victor Smith passed over Loanda at 3.1'5 a.m. Monday, an hour in advance of schedule. He cabled from Mossamedes: "I am going fine." Smith expects to negotiate the Sahara on Tuesday night and arrive at Croydon on Wednesday evening. Victor Smith, aged 19, left Capetown at 2 a.m. on Sunday in a GipsyMoth to attempt to lower the Duchess of Bedford's CapetownCroydon record of ten days.
