SUMMER SPORTS

CLUBS START SEASON. Several sporting bodies will commence the season on Saturday. The Te Kuiti Bowling and Croquet clubs are among these, and a full green of local and visiting bowlers are expected to be present. It is reported that the greens and croquet lawn are in splendid order. Two of the other clubs starting are further afield, these being the Hamilton and Mangapeehi Tennis Clubs, but the opening of the Te Kuiti Tennis Club should be of local interest. Much work has been done this week in preparing the courts for the season, and it is hoped that there will be a large number of members both of this club and outside clubs at the opening function.
