OTTAWA CONFERENCE
QUESTIONS IN COMMONS
BRITISH COAL FOR CANADA. (Press Association. —Copyright.) (Received 10.26 a.m.) London, March 23. Mr. Ramsay MacDonald, answering a questioner in the House of Commons, said the subject of extending sales *of British coal to Canada was being carefully considered in connection with the preparations for the Ottawa Conference.
Mr. Batey: "Will you make it clear that Canada will receive no more preference unless she buys more coal from Britain and less from the United States?" Mr. MacDonald: "I am sure the Ministers going to Ottawa will note the observation." Sir John Simon told. Mr. Hannon that the Argentine Government had made inquiries in reference to sending a trade commission to Britain, but the Ambassador was informed that in view of Britain's desire not to prejudice the Ottawa Conference, no useful purpose would be served by the delegation coming at present.
